MDA (skin polishing) in Kandivali Mumbai

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion (MDA) is a highly effective, non-invasive treatment for face & body polishing. It is a quick and a gentle method of skin rejuvenation for patients of all skin types and tones.

MDA is a skin polishing procedure wherein a machine propels a fine stream of inert microscopic crystals to exfoliate (gently shed off) the epidermal (outer) layer of the skin. This smoothens and refreshes the skin.

MDA can thus be utilized for

  • Sun damaged skin
  • Enlarged or clogged pores
  • Pimple and acne marks and other skin blemishes
  • Age spots and superficial pigmentation
  • MDA can be performed without anesthesia and averagely takes between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the areas treated and the skin problem being addressed.

A softer, smoother and brighter complexion with a considerable reduction in the epidermal damage related to age, sun exposure or skin trauma can be observed after treatment of the face or body with MDA. Improvements are seen after each treatment session, with optimal results witnessed after an average of 5 to 6 sessions.

    Skin Pigmentation and Skin Brightening

Pigmentation can be identified as uneven skin tone or discolouration of the skin. A pigment called melanin adds to and determines the colour of our skin. Overproduction of melanin causes a medical condition called hyperpigmentation, sometimes also simply referened to as pigmentation. Generally it is harmless but from a cosmetic and aesthetic point of view it’s a nuisance. The abnormal discoloration of the skin , visible in the form of color contrasts such as dark skin or very light skin , is prone to UV rays of the sun.

    FAQ'S

    Q. WHY AM I GETTING BROWN SPOTS ON MY FACE?

The most common cause is sun damage. Brown spots from sun usually appear on areas of the skin that are naturally exposed to the sun, such as the face and the back of the neck and arms. They can cause existing brown spots to darken or cause new ones.

    Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR HYPERPIGMENTATION TO FADE?

PIH can fade away over time, even without treatment. But time is the operative word here. It can take three to 24 months for PIH to fully fade, although in some cases it may take longer. The length of time it takes for PIH to fade depends on how dark the spot is compared to the surrounding skin.

    Q. WILL MELASMA EVER GO AWAY?

Melasma can fade on its own. Some people, however, have melasma for years — or even a lifetime. If the melasma does not go away or a woman wants to keep taking birth control pills, melasma treatments are available.
